Setting up your screens

Once you have connected all your screens and booted in Windows you will need to run through a quick setup to tell Windows exactly how your screens are physically arranged.

For example, if you are running a quad square array Windows has no idea that 2 of your screens are mounted above 2 of the others, this means that the mouse will not move between screens as you would expect it to.

Telling Windows the arrangement of your screens is a simple task, to do so follow these instructions:

  • Right click on a blank part of your desktop screen and select ‘Screen Resolution’ from the menu options, you will open up the admin panel for all connected screens.

Screen Admin Panel

Screen Admin Panel

At the top of this window you will see boxes with numbers on which represent your physical screens, the goal is to drag these screens into the same order as your physical layout.

  • Click on the ‘Identify’ button located to the top right of the admin window, this displays a large number of each screen connected, please remember the order or write it down for use in a moment.

Screen Organisation

  • Once you have the order you need to drag the boxes in the screen admin window to match your physical layout. Note you can drag screens above, below, left or right of other screens to exactly match your physical setup.
  • Click on the Apply button and this will save your layout settings, your screens make flicker on and off again whilst this occurs.

You should now be able to move your mouse around all connected screens easily, i.e. moving your mouse off the bottom screen to the top one is seamless.
